The modules XBee Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n are complete modems that allow Wi-Fi connectivity to be implemented very quickly from a serial port or a UART or SPI signal.
These ultra-compact modems have the XBee form factor and are interchangeable with other Wi-Fi, ZigBee or 802.15.4 products.
The sometimes crippling defect of Wi-Fi (consumption) is erased here thanks to the introduction of a sleep mode that can lower consumption to less than 6 A under the typical 3.3 VDC of power supply.
This module opens up new opportunities, particularly in the field of energy management, robotics and sensor radio networking. The XBee Wi-Fi 6B series is an evolution of the 6 series. The main improvements are the maximum transmission speed from about 3Mbps for series 6 to almost 6.5Mbps in SPI for the 6B series. The 6B series also includes Digi Remote Manager support, which allows it to integrate into cloud configurations.
